I worked at the Circulation Desk today. The Reference Desk doesn't open until 9:00 am, so if a patron needs assistance prior to that time, I am the Reference Librarian.
A computer consultant came over with a patron shortly after 8:00 and asked if I could help. Sure, I said. I love Reference Services, and I love any opportunity to conduct reference transactions. Whether or not this experience was beneficial to me as an information professionl, I don't know. It has kept me entertained all day, though.
Me: What types of materials are you trying to find?
Patron: I am looking for autobiographies of Korea.
I'm pretty clever, but even I can't make this shit up.
