I readily admit to my many crushes in this forum. Today, it's Keith Olbermann.
I am not a cable television subscriber, so my familiarity with Keith is the occasional Countdown on regular network t.v. - like last night - and the internets. Oh, and there was this thing, back in the day, called Sportscenter.
I was talking with my nephew, age nine, during the NFL playoffs last fall. He was extremely knowledgeable about wild card standings, home field advantage and whatnot. I asked him if he was going to go into some sort of sports career when he grows up. His response? "I might be a sportscaster." "That's awesome," I replied, "maybe you can introduce me to Keith Olbermann." "Sure," says he, "I like him." Good to know.
Childbearing is out of the question for me, so concern about taking our little Olbermanns for electrolysis at the pediatrician's office is unnecessary. My biggest concern will be learning to appreciate baseball (I'll do it for you, though, Keith), and what to do with having "O" as my initial and monogram. Not one to have considered changing my name in the past, I rather like the possibilities of having my name be something-O. Jackie O, Hawaii Five-O. I like it.
